Another new adventure

As a New Year's resolution I vowed to simplify every aspect of my life.  I started by looking at my tasks.  What was the task I hated the most and how could I make it easier and simpler?  After very little thought, I declared laundry as the task I hate the most.  It's not that I hate doing laundry, I don't even mind folding it.  I hate, and I mean with a passion, HATE putting it away.  Why?  Because we as a family have accumulated so much that we have no space to put it!  I can never seem to find the space in the closet to put the freshly laundered clothes; therefore, I just fold them and keep them in a laundry basket.  Yes, my secret is out!  I just don't put them away!

So, to simplify this task, I cleaned out my closet to make more room.  I know this is such a brilliant idea that it has taken me how many years to figure it out?  Five trash bags later (yes 5!!), I have room in my closet to put clothes away.  As I mentioned, this is such a brilliant idea and I didn't want to wait it, so I did the same in Stacy, Michelle and Craig's closet.  AMAZING!  That task is SO much easier!  Who'da thunk it?  One down and so many more to go.

Moving on to the next: cooking.  Although I love to cook, it was really hard to come home from work, make dinner, then clean up.  Half of the time I would forget to put meat out to defrost and we would end up going out to eat in order to save time (especially on school nights).  This is a challenge I am currently trying to tackle.  My goal is to cook a healthy, quick, good tasting dinner at home 6 nights of the week.  I am giving myself 2 weeks to get this task in line.  At this moment I am 1 week into this challenge and so far so good.
